Black tea with Honey
Black tea was chosen for this month because there was not an interesting even happening during this time in the Fall. But the Fall is usually thought of when it start to get a bit cool out, and what better way to balance the weather than with a nice warm cup of black tea.
Black tea come from the Western tradition of drinking tea, this tea shares a common origin with the Camellia Sinensis derivatives. Around 400 years ago the Camellia Sinensis plant was the first plant to be used to add flavoring to hot water. With the first time this was done, black tea was invented. This was then the firs rich tradition of the Chinese experimentation.
Black Tea can differ from other forms, so it is turned into pure tea through fermentation. Fermentation is the process to create the tea. Black tea makes beverages much stronger in the sense of flavor that white or green tea does. Black tea was made by accident with a batch of tea leaves were left without being watched, and they become oxidized. Due to that the tea was darker, had more caffeine and the flavor was stronger. Those thing made black tea wanted because it was about to have a long term shelf life for marketing purposes.
Black tea was an easy item to use in trade because of what it was able to do. Most of the first people to do most of the trading were foreigners that lived outside of China. They were the ones who sampled the drink from the brick form of the tea. The brick tea was black tea that was processed and it was compacted and harden, to make a cup a portion of the brick had to be shaven off. The bricks of tea were used in trade too as currency because they were so high in value. This brick tea is still popular for foreign trade in China although the quality is low.
