My Book
When I first started this book, my idea was to add some color to my drawings. After I while I thought about it, and I did not ad any color. All of my drawings are black and white, I felt as if adding color would leave too much room for interpretation. When people view these drawings I want them to be able to have a better understanding or a connection between the picture and the holiday or tradition. Adding color would only leave a viewer trying to figure out why I made certain things a certain color, most people associate "certain meanings" to pictures when the see them. Like blue giving a warm feelings and yellow meaning happy. To me from my artist perspective I use blue as a neutral color, which is not the case for everyone else. No, I did not base my book off of trying to please other but I did have to think about taking a universal perspective when it came to the 'general' frame.
