Mothers' Day (Panama)
In Panama Mother day is on the 8th of December and it is the same day at the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. The date was made in 1930 by the wife of Panama;s President Florencio Harmodio Arosemena. After a litte bit of time it was official that December 8th was Panamas' Mothers' Day. In 1924 politician Aníbal D. Ríos also wanted Mothers' Day on December 8th. The reason why Mothers' Day was wanted on the same day as Feast of the Immaculate was because the people of Panama wanted people this think of Feast of the Immaculate when they thought of Mothers' Day. The people wanted mothers to be linked to the highest event of the year. This feat it to remember Mary who was in the womb of Ann, when Mary was born she was born in the state of unparalleled holiness. Due to Mary being holy, Jesus did not allow any evil to taint Mary. In Mary there was no stain of sin.
Last page of My Book
For the last page I wanted it to have an artist theme, because December is Winter and a little after that I wanted to put a little twist on it so I drew designs with the Mayan inspiration. The Mayan culture gets their way of designing from the things that they wore, the places they lived and sometimes just simple line and shape structure was what they were trying to do with their art.
Most of the time when Maya culture make their art is reflects their lifestyle and culture. They like to create their art out of carvings in stone and would and clay and stucco models. They make their art as they woud do architecture. The subject of their work is not identified; it is the reflection of society and it's always surround people.
